The Government Relations Associate will support the team in maintaining effective engagement with government authorities while developing a practical understanding of policies, regulations, and public-sector processes relevant to AECOM 's activities. This position is structured as an early-career opportunity, giving the successful candidate direct exposure to policy research, stakeholder meetings, advocacy support, internal coordination, and government-facing communication. By organizing information accurately and helping the team interpret regulatory developments, the associate will contribute to stronger institutional relationships and more informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Support preparation of government relations reports and internal briefing materials.
- Assist with development of policy briefs and stakeholder presentations.
- Research government regulations, policies, and administrative requirements.
- Summarize regulatory developments for review by senior team members.
- Help analyze how new policies may affect organizational activities.
- Participate in meetings with government representatives and external stakeholders.
- Prepare meeting notes, action items, and supporting documentation.
- Assist in coordinating follow-up activities after government meetings.
- Support preparation of communication materials for advocacy and public affairs initiatives.
- Gather information from internal departments for government-related submissions and briefings.
- Coordinate with project, legal, administrative, and management teams when information is required.
- Help maintain organized records of government correspondence and policy materials.
- Learn applicable laws, regulations, and administrative procedures.
- Apply relevant regulatory knowledge when supporting government relations activities.
- Assist in monitoring policy developments relevant to the organization.
- Support preparation of PowerPoint presentations for government and stakeholder engagement.
- Use Microsoft Word to prepare reports, correspondence, and briefing documents.
- Use Microsoft Excel to organize basic regulatory and stakeholder information.
- Help maintain accurate contact and stakeholder records.
- Support internal communication regarding government-related requirements.
- Assist with scheduling and logistical coordination for meetings when required.
- Contribute to research on public-sector initiatives and regulatory priorities.
- Support preparation of background notes before stakeholder engagements.
- Help ensure information provided to government entities is accurate and complete.
- Follow internal procedures when handling sensitive or official correspondence.
- Work collaboratively with team members on multiple government relations assignments.
- Maintain professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support day-to-day administrative activities within the Government Relations function.

Candidates should hold a bachelor 's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Law, or a related discipline. This opportunity is suitable for fresh graduates with 0-2 years of experience. Relevant internships in government relations, public affairs, policy, law, administration, or stakeholder engagement will be considered an advantage. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important, together with the ability to prepare clear reports, presentations, and briefing documents.
