Senior BI Engineer "Dashboard Tools Expert

Overview

Power BI Administration and related BI tool responsibilities across Power BI, SSIS, and SSAS.)

• Power BI Administration:
  Manage and administer the Power BI service, including work spaces, datasets, reports, and dashboards; monitor and optimize performance (data refresh schedules and query performance); implement and enforce security policies, including row-level security (RLS) and role-based access control (RBAC); troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI reports, data sources, and gateways; collaborate with business users to design and deploy Power BI solutions that meet organizational needs;
  
  stay updated with the latest Power BI features and updates, and implement best practices.
• SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) Administration:
  Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using SSIS; monitor and optimize SSIS package performance and troubleshoot failures; manage SSIS catalog, deployments, and scheduling of packages; ensure data integrity with data validation and error handling; collaborate with database administrators and developers to integrate SSIS with other systems.
• SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) Administration:
  Administer and maintain SSAS instances, including multidimensional and tabular models; optimize SSAS cube performance (partitioning, aggregations, processing schedules); implement and manage security roles and permissions within SSAS; troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SSAS processing, queries, and connectivity; work with data architects and analysts to design and deploy SSAS solutions.
• General Responsibilities:
  
  Monitor system health, performance, and availability of BI tools and services; perform regular backups, updates, and patches for BI tools and related systems; document processes, configurations, and best practices for BI administration; provide technical support and training to end-users and stakeholders; collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between BI tools and business objectives; stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in BI and data analytics;
  
  build Analysis Services reporting models; migrate self-service reports from Oracle BI and Tableau to Power BI; migrate reports and dashboards from Oracle BI to Power BI.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in administering and managing Power BI, SSIS, and SSAS
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and BI concepts
• Experience with SQL Server, including T-SQL scripting and database administration
• Familiarity with data visualization best practices and tools
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus

• Proficiency in Power BI administration, including Power BI Service and Power BI Report Server
• Expertise in SSIS package development, deployment, and troubleshooting
• Strong knowledge of SSAS, including cube design, processing, and optimization
• Experience with data modeling, DAX, and MDX
• Knowledge of data gateways, dataflows, and Power Query
• Familiarity with Power Shell scripting for automation tasks
