About the Role
This is a pivotal leadership role designed for a strategic commercial leader. As the Head of Media Sales, you will be the architect and driver of a new, high-potential revenue stream for the company. You will have the unique opportunity to scale a new business unit from the ground up, defining its strategy, roadmap, and operational structure. Your mission will be to transform our platforms traffic and data into a sophisticated media offering, selling high-impact advertising and marketing solutions to an elite portfolio of partners, including global airlines, major hotel chains, and national tourism boards.
This role requires a blend of strategic vision, hands‑on sales leadership, and entrepreneurial drive. You will be responsible for the full P&L of the Media Sales division and will be instrumental in shaping the future of our commercial success.
- Architect the
Roadmap:
Develop and own the comprehensive 1, 3, and 5-year strategic plan for the Media Sales business unit. - Own the P&L:
Take full ownership of the division's revenue targets, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability. - Scale the Business:
Design and implement the operational framework, sales processes, and team structure required to aggressively scale the business. - Product Innovation:
Collaborate closely with Product, Tech, and Marketing teams to develop new advertising products and inventory types (e.g., programmatic display, sponsored listings, native content, email marketing, social media campaigns). - Market Analysis:
Serve as the expert on the digital travel media landscape, identifying market trends, competitive threats, and new opportunities.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key partners: airlines, hotel groups, destination marketing organizations, banks, and travel-related brands.
- Create tailored media packages and marketing proposals aligned with partner goals (visibility, conversions, loyalty, etc.).
- Negotiate and close strategic deals that maximize yield from available inventory.
- Collaborate with partner marketing and analytics teams to measure campaign impact and ROI.
- Own the media inventory management framework across all customer touchpoints.
- Partner with product, tech, and analytics teams to optimize inventory performance, targeting, and reporting.
- Define ad formats, placement logic, and attribution models in coordination with the product and marketing teams.
- Oversee the setup of media dashboards, campaign delivery, and insights reporting.
- Build a high-performing team:
Train and mentor a team of media sales and operations executives. - Foster a sales culture:
Cultivate a culture of success, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team. - Set performance metrics:
Establish clear KPIs, sales targets, and performance review structures to drive team performance and individual growth.
- 10+ years of experience in digital media sales, with at least 4 years in a senior role managing a team and P&L.
- A proven track record of building and scaling a media sales business or comparable commercial division, consistently exceeding multi-million dollar revenue targets.
- Deep expertise in the digital advertising ecosystem, including programmatic, direct sales, native advertising, and performance marketing.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and business planning capabilities, with experience creating and executing long-term growth roadmaps.
- A natural leader with demonstrable experience in hiring, coaching, and developing high-performing sales teams.
- Direct experience working within the online travel (OTA), airline, or hospitality technology sector.
- An existing, high-level network of contacts within major airlines, hotel groups, and tourism boards across the MENA region and globally.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth tech or start-up environment.
- Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making and strategy.
