Power BI Admin

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage Power BI Report Server environments.
• Configure and manage datasets, data sources, gateways, refresh schedules, and report publishing.
• Manage work spaces, roles, and user permissions using Azure Active Directory and Report Server Security.
• Monitor health, usage, capacity, and performance of both cloud and on-premises platforms.
• Perform regular patching, upgrades, and backup/restore operations for Power BI Report Server.
• In force organizational standards, policies, and naming conventions for reports, dashboards, and work spaces.
• Implement and manage Row-Level Security (RLS), user/group-based access controls, and audit logs.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance, retention, and data protection (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Collaborate with IT and Info Sec teams to implement secure and compliant BI practices.
• Automate dataset refreshes, report deployments, and monitor failures proactively.
• Act as SME for all Power BI platform-related queries, incidents, and troubleshooting.
• Provide training and support to Power BI developers, business users, and analysts.
• Document admin procedures, support runbooks, and best practices.
• Develop administrative dashboards to track report usage, performance metrics, and license utilization.
• Monitor gateway health and ensure continuity of data connectivity.
• Regularly review usage to optimize performance and manage capacity planning.
