To maintain competitive advantage as we grow, we are currently looking for new Data Governance Sr. Specialist:
Job purpose:Lead data stewardship execution across critical data domains by establishing and governing the enterprise data catalog and ensuring robust data quality frameworks aligned with global best practices.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:- Steward Critical Data Domains: Act as the delegated data steward and subject-matter expert for assigned high-value domains (e.g., Customer, Financial, Product). Ensure data assets are properly defined, classified, and managed according to policy.
- Implement & Enforce Governance Controls: Operationalize enterprise frameworks within assigned domains. Define and implement specific data quality rules, business glossary entries, and classification labels. Enforce adherence to standards.
- Own Data Lineage & Impact Analysis: Document and maintain detailed, end-to-end lineage for critical data flows within owned domains. Conduct impact analysis for proposed system or process changes to assess and mitigate downstream risk.
- Manage the Data Catalog & Metadata: Serve as the business owner for the enterprise data catalog within assigned domains. Curate, enrich, and validate technical metadata with business context, definitions, and usage guidelines to drive discovery and trust.
- Investigate & Remediate Data Issues: Lead the triage, root‑cause analysis, and remediation of complex data quality incidents and breaches. Coordinate cross‑functional teams (IT, business ops) to implement fixes and preventive controls.
- Facilitate Governance Operations: Facilitate data stewardship workflows, lead domain‑specific working sessions, and prepare materials for governance councils. Execute periodic access certification reviews to ensure compliance with security policies.
- Support Audits & Enable Stakeholders: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal/external audits within owned domains, providing evidence and remediation plans. Mentor data users and junior analysts on governance processes and best practices.
- 5–7+ years of overall experience, with a minimum of 4 years in Data Management, Data Governance, or Data Stewardship roles.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and data profiling techniques for data quality assessment and issue resolution.
- Demonstrated Stewardship Leadership competency with strong cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
