About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Rhapsody Integration Engineer / Consultant to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will focus on the development and maintenance of interfaces (including healthcare systems), particularly using Rhapsody Integration Engine. Your responsibilities will include analyzing and interpreting HL7 messages, developing a variety of interfaces, and ensuring the smooth deployment and operation of these systems.
The requirement for a Rhapsody Integration Engine - Associate Certification is a must have for this role.
- Develop and maintain interfaces using technologies such as HL7, CSV, HTTP REST Clients, SOAP Web Services, and FHIR in both XML & JSON formats, with a focus on high-efficiency and low-latency performance.
- Conduct business analysis of HL7 & other messages sourced from various Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with HL7 standards.
- Provide support in managing changes, coordinating project activities, and communicating with affected stakeholders or clients to ensure seamless implementation.
- Engage in all phases of the interface lifecycle, including system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), go-live support, and ongoing maintenance.
- Ensure the reliability and efficiency of interfaces, while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with team members to identify, analyze, and resolve defects in system interfaces.
- Regularly assess and optimize interface performance, conducting performance tuning and scalability enhancements.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience with Rhapsody Integration Engine and interface development.
- Rhapsody Integration Engine - Associate Certification (required; certification demonstrates foundational competency in managing message flows and core engine operations).
- Strong understanding of HL7 standards and experience in developing HL7 interfaces.
- Proficiency in developing and managing interfaces using CSV, HTTP REST, SOAP Web Services, and FHIR (XML & JSON).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Experience in healthcare IT or with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Familiarity with other integration engines and healthcare data standards.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Higher-level Rhapsody certifications (e.g., Professional) are a plus.
- Integration Engines & Middleware:
Experience in implementation and management of Rhapsody middleware, advanced monitoring and alerting configuration, high-availability setup and disaster recovery planning, performance optimization and tuning, custom route development and testing. - Healthcare Interoperability & Standards: HL7 v2.x (2.3 to 2.8) implementation and validation, HL7 v3 RIM-based implementations, FHIR R4 resource mapping and API development.
- Interface Development & Messaging Protocols: HL7 interface architecture and implementation, RESTful API design and development, message validation and error handling.
- Robust Communication Protocols: VPN tunnel configuration.
