Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems
Configure and maintain SQL database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, and provide problem resolution document
Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems
Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after working hours
Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the business’s Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)
Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms
As new systems are brought in-house, choose whether to use clustering, log shipping, mirroring, or other technologies
Install and configure new SQL Servers
Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors
Establish security policies and user privileges and roles.
When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including server configuration changes, or index/query changes
When users complain about the performance of a particular query, help developers improve the performance of that query by tweaking it or modifying indexes
Provide technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
Document the company’s database environment
Role SpecificationMinimum 4 to 5 years relevant experience in support & Implementation role on supporting large SQL Database .
Experience in managing and trouble-shooting Database issues , performance , backup , DR , etc.
Adequate project management skills and ability to manage time and complex tasks.
Good understanding of the SQL & oracle technology and applications EBS & Siebel … etc.
Must have documentation skills and be proficient with MS Visio.
Familiar with the ITIL service model.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
