Job Summary The Low Current Engineer is responsible for implementing and supporting low-voltage (LV) systems, including fiber optic networks, structured cabling, UPS systems, and end devices. This role ensures that low-current infrastructure is deployed to high standards of performance, reliability, and safety, supporting critical ICT, security, and building management systems.

Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and support low-current (LV) systems, including structured cabling, fiber optics, UPS, CCTV, access control, and related devices.
- Supervise installation activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and OEM requirements.
- Perform fiber optic splicing, termination, and testing using industry-standard tools and procedures.
- Carry out structured cabling design, routing, and installation, ensuring compliance with BICSI and international standards.
- Implement UPS systems for low-current infrastructure, ensuring continuous power availability and system protection.
- Configure, install, and test LV devices and related hardware to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Conduct detailed system testing, troubleshooting, and fault isolation for copper and fiber networks.
- Prepare documentation including as-built drawings, cable schedules, and test reports.
- Coordinate with technicians and subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery and adherence to timelines.
- Provide technical support during commissioning, expansions, and upgrades of LV systems.
- Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and cable management practices for long‑term reliability and maintainability.
- Collaborate with IT, facilities, and security teams to integrate low-current systems into enterprise networks and operations.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies in structured cabling, fiber optics, and low‑voltage systems to recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes during all LV installation and maintenance activities.
- Participate in quality assurance checks, inspections, and acceptance testing for LV projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, or related technical field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in implementing low-current systems, with a focus on fiber, structured cabling, and UPS infrastructure.
- Strong hands‑on experience with fiber optic installation, splicing, termination, and testing.
- Knowledge of structured cabling design, pathways, and installation in line with BICSI standards.
- Familiarity with UPS systems, their installation, testing, and integration with low-current networks.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, cabling layouts, and system documentation.
- Ability to lead teams of technicians and subcontractors, ensuring work quality and compliance.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience resolving complex LV infrastructure issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams.
- Ability to work in demanding environments, including data centers, construction sites, and operational facilities.
- Aviation experience is preferred.
- BICSI Technician Certification
- FOA CFOT (Certified Fiber Optic Technician)
- Fluke Cable Testing Certification
- Fiber Optic Splicing Specialist Certification
- OSHA or equivalent Safety Training Certification
- Vendor/OEM Training for UPS or fiber systems
