Data Architect

The Data Architect is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, efficient, and secure data architecture that supports the data management and analytics needs of the Enterprise Data Platform. This role focuses on building a robust foundation for data storage, integration, and processing, ensuring seamless integration of data from various sources while optimizing performance, security, and cost.

• Design, implement, and manage scalable and efficient data architecture for the Enterprise Data Platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or other cloud environments as required.
• Architect and implement data models and storage solutions, including data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics layers, optimized for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and technical teams to support advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI use cases.
• Define and enforce data governance practices, ensuring data security, privacy, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Design and implement ETL/ELT processes to efficiently ingest, cleanse, and transform data from multiple sources into a data Lake architecture.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive data architecture strategy, focusing on continuous improvement and optimization of data pipelines and platforms.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers, and collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to capture and translate data requirements.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in cloud and data architecture, ensuring adoption of best practices and innovation.
• Monitor data platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and continuously optimize solutions for reliability, efficiency, and scalability.
• Strong experience in Data Architecture across large-scale enterprise environments.
• Proven experience in Solution Architecture (SA), with the ability to design end-to-end data solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Solid exposure to Enterprise Architecture (EA), ensuring alignment with target-state architecture, enterprise standards, and technology roadmaps.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Experience with data integration and orchestration tools such as Informatica.
• Strong knowledge of Big Query, Google Cloud Storage, and GCP Native Services.
• Experience with API management and integration platforms such as Apigee.
• Strong understanding of event-driven and streaming architectures using Pub/Sub and Kafka.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and master data concepts.
• Experience in designing secure data platforms with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and cost optimization.
• Familiarity with local regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., data residency, privacy, and regulatory controls applicable in Saudi Arabia such as NDMO, PDPL, and related frameworks).
• Ability to work across multiple teams and initiatives, balancing tactical delivery with strategic architectural alignment.
