Job OverviewThe IT System Administrator is responsible for the health, stability, and integrity of the organization’s core IT infrastructure. This role requires a hands-on technical expert capable of managing a complex environment that includes multi-platform servers, virtualization, and enterprise storage. You will ensure that our systems are not only operational but optimized, secure, and resilient against data loss through robust backup and recovery management.
Key Responsibilities1. Server & Operating System Management
Multi-Platform Administration: Manage and maintain a hybrid server environment, ensuring peak performance for both Linux and Microsoft operating systems.
System Integrity: Proactively implement and monitor system health to identify potential bottlenecks or failures before they impact business operations.
Troubleshooting: Act as the lead technical resource for resolving complex system errors and hardware/software malfunctions.
Directory Services: Manage and optimize Active Directory
, including group policies, user permissions, and security auditing.Messaging &
Collaboration:
Administer MS Exchange environments to ensure seamless and secure communication across the organization.Virtualization: Oversee the VMware environment, including resource allocation, VM deployment, and cluster management.
Storage & SAN: Manage and maintain EMC Storage solutions to ensure high availability and efficient data management.
Backup Protocols: Design and execute reliable backup strategies using Veeam Backup to ensure zero data loss.
Disaster Recovery: Regularly test and validate recovery protocols to ensure business continuity in the event of hardware or system failure.
System Documentation: Maintain detailed records of system configurations, licensing, and maintenance logs.
Efficiency Enhancements: Identify opportunities for system upgrades or process improvements to enhance data integrity and decision support.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology
, or a related field.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a System Administration or Infrastructure role.
Technical Mastery: Deep hands-on experience with Active Directory, VMware, and enterprise storage (EMC).
Backup Expertise: Proven track record in managing enterprise backup solutions, specifically Veeam
.OS Knowledge: Proficiency in both Linux and Windows Server environments.
Candidates must hold at least one (or more) of the following certifications:
MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert)
VCP (VMware Certified Professional)
RHCP (Red Hat Certified Professional)
