Senior Network Engineer Specialist Responsibilities

They are seeking a Senior Network Engineer Specialist to join their client. The Client is looking for someone to join their Business Technology organization supporting the logistics, installation, integration and maintenance of network systems throughout their infrastructure. This role requires strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, as well as the ability to plan and lead LAN and WAN projects. This senior position also assists with the development of network architecture designs for physical, virtual and cloud environments.

Other duties include monitoring network performance, tracking metrics, collecting and analyzing logs and remediating problems as needed. The person who fills this position will need to often take the initiative to evaluate the client’s networking ecosystem and then plan, communicate, coordinate and implement refinements and improvements to the network.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
• Experience:
  
  5 years of related experience post degree
• LAN switching for both branch office and data center;
  Cisco IOS.
• Data center operations and management.
• Routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
• Enterprise-grade 802.11 wireless networking systems.
• Next-generation firewalls, such as Juniper.
• Site-to-site and remote access IPSec VPNs.
• Avaya VOIP.
• Project management experience and the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
• Capable of producing detailed network designs and diagrams as well as documenting operational procedures.
• Proficiency with analyzing network traffic including reading packet traces and debugging application conversations.
• Networking for unified communications and experience with QoS.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience managing vendor relationships.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

• Certifications or equivalent:
  Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE Data Center, CCIE R&S), Juniper, and Avaya VOIP Certified.
• Experience with troubleshooting real-time applications such as Avaya and Juniper devices.
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting.
• Automation of workloads and ability to develop scripts to improve the consistency of networks and fabrics, deploy configurations and other tasks.
