Network technician

Responsibilities

• Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware, software, and network-related issues for end users across the district network, internet, servers, PCs, and Mac systems.
• Installs, configures, and troubleshoots campus and remote-site network cabling infrastructure, including various LAN equipment and related software.
• Uses a ticketing/tracking system to log support requests, monitor progress, and ensure timely problem resolution.
• Tracks recurring issues, analyzes failure patterns, researches fixes, and implements effective solutions.
• Communicates regularly with management regarding unresolved or critical technical issues.
• Collaborates with Network Engineers in designing, developing, and implementing network infrastructure.
• Supports Network Engineers in resolving technical issues to ensure smooth end-user computing operations.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in:
  • Network installation and operation
  • Computer systems maintenance
  • Operating systems (Microsoft & Linux – all versions)
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in:
  • Network cabling (Cabling)
  • Working with all cable types:
    • Copper
    • UTP
    • Fiber
• Education:
  • Diploma (Higher Diploma) in Computer Technology, Information Technology, or equivalent recognized certifications
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in computer science / IT or related field
• Additional experience:
  • Low Current Systems
  • Electrical installations
  • Power generators
  • UPS systems
