As a Technical Writer within the Product Engineering and Technology (PET) division, you will operate as a key enabler of engineering velocity and strict regulatory compliance for high‑assurance real‑time digital platforms.
Responsibilities- Docs-as-Code Engineering & API Architecture
- Engineer and govern the documentation lifecycle transitioning from interim Docs-as‑Code CI/CD pipelines, Git Lab, Markdown into a robust single-source enterprise publishing architecture using Mad Cap Flare.
- Autonomously reverse‑engineer complex codebases (FastAPI, Vue.js) to author perfectly accurate API references (OpenAPI, Swagger) and SOF integration guides without requiring constant developer hand holding.
- Document complex deployments spanning both interim Google Cloud environments and target bare‑metal sovereign infrastructure.
- Cryptographic & Compliance Documentation
- Partner directly with the Cyber by Design Principal and Solution Consultants to architect highly defensive compliance documentation, Security Operating Procedures, Architecture Documents that serve as bulletproof evidence for strict NCA Essential Cybersecurity Controls (ECC) audits and Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) governance.
- Systems Visualisation & Hardware Manuals
- Translate highly complex hybrid cloud topologies and cryptographic state transitions into standardised developer‑ready diagrams (Mermaid.js, C4 Model).
- Develop exacting, highly technical installation and operational playbooks for custom monolithic hardware appliances used in sensitive, air‑gapped industrial OT environments.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
5+ years of highly technical writing experience, explicitly within cybersecurity, cloud platforms, or deep enterprise software engineering.
Skills- Content Management (NICE KO‑106)
- Exceptional capability in establishing and enforcing technical writing and documentation standards across complex, highly regulated engineering environments.
- Technical Writing (SFIA TECH Level
4) - Autonomously designs and creates documentation to meet the precise needs of highly technical audiences.
- Takes definitive ownership of the information architecture and publishing pipelines.
- Deep expertise in Mad Cap Flare, required as we transition our enterprise publishing architecture for sovereign hardware.
- Mastery of Markdown, Git, static site generators (e.g., MkDocs), and advanced API documentation tools (Swagger, Postman) is strictly required for the interim state.
- Ability to natively read and extract architectural intent from Python, Type Script, and YAML without developer translation.
- Proven ability to document strict security controls and cryptographic handling against uncompromising standards like NGA ECC, OWASP, and ISO 27001.
