Job Summary
The Senior Azure Architect is responsible for designing and architecting end-to‑end Azure solutions for migration, modernization, hybrid cloud, and managed services engagements. This role owns target‑state architecture, produces high‑level and low‑level designs, leads architecture reviews, and ensures solutions are practical, scalable, secure, compliant, and cost‑effective.
Core Design & Architecture Responsibilities- Design and architect end‑to‑end Azure solutions that define the proposed products, services, delivery model, and target‑state architecture.
- Produce high‑level designs (HLD), low‑level designs (LLD), architecture diagrams, and detailed technical documentation for complex enterprise solutions.
- Translate business, operational, security, and compliance requirements into practical, maintainable, scalable, and cost‑effective Azure architectures.
- Design multi‑tier application and infrastructure platforms on Azure, including enhancements and redesigns of existing services.
- Define Azure landing zone, subscription, identity, governance, and network architecture patterns aligned to enterprise standards.
- Create and maintain architecture artefacts, standards, reusable patterns, and infrastructure repositories across the architecture lifecycle.
- Act as solution architect for large migration programs, with architect‑level experience in projects involving at least 200+ nodes.
- Apply Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) principles and migration best practices across discovery, assessment, landing zone readiness, migration planning, and cutover.
- Design Azure network architectures for migrating on‑premises workloads, including connectivity, routing, segmentation, firewalling, load balancing, and hybrid integration.
- Architect complete IaaS stacks on public and private cloud platforms, including compute, storage, networking, backup, monitoring, and security services.
- Support hybrid platform scenarios involving Azure, Azure Stack, VMware, Hyper‑V, and Open Stack environments.
- Participate in architecture design reviews, governance boards, and technical forums, representing the infrastructure architecture function across multiple projects.
- Provide technical leadership to delivery, operations, security, and engineering teams during solution implementation and service transition.
- Guide teams on architectural best practices, design standards, governance controls, risk management, and technology selection.
- Engage customers, internal stakeholders, and project teams in workshops, design discussions, solution reviews, and decision‑making sessions.
- Azure Architecture – Strong hands‑on knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, architecture patterns, and Azure portal/control plane capabilities.
- Design Documentation – Ability to create HLD and LLD documents for infrastructure, platform, migration, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Virtualization & Hybrid – Good understanding of VMware or Hyper‑V; exposure to Azure Stack or Open Stack is preferred.
- Networking – Sound understanding of routing, firewalls, L2/L3 switches, load balancers, and Azure network design for enterprise workloads.
- Automation & IaC – Hands‑on experience with Terraform, Bicep, ARM, Power Shell, Ansible, and Azure Dev Ops.
- Dev Ops & Delivery – Good knowledge of Dev Ops and CI/CD tool chains such as Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub, Jenkins, and Spinnaker.
- Governance & Compliance – Understanding of governance, compliance, and risk frameworks adopted across enterprise and regulated industries.
- 10+ years of technical experience, including solution design and architecture responsibilities.
- At least 6 years of customer‑facing, consulting, or professional services experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong communication, documentation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead workshops, architecture discussions, migration planning sessions, and solution review meetings.
- Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Experience with enterprise landing zones, governance models, cost optimization, and security baselines.
- Exposure to large‑scale migration, modernization, and transformation programs across multiple projects or customers.
