Tech SMEs are experts in Amazon’s operational systems and are accountable for delivering world‑class solutions by optimizing and reinventing existing technology.
A successful manager in this organization has strong program‑management experience to define the process the team uses to deliver best‑in‑class tech to the field. This person looks for ways to automate human decision‑making by influencing technology teams to build and update tools that reduce process complexity and deliver robust processes.
The Role:
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) supports, coordinates, and facilitates the implementation of new and improved processes within quick‑commerce operations. The SME works closely with store operations, last‑mile delivery teams, and local and global product teams. They will be the single point of contact for all tech‑related activities concerning Supply Chain (SC), Under the Roof (UTR), and On the Road (OTR), and will provide regular updates to the senior leadership team.
- Lead technology programs and initiatives for dark store operations, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems
- Drive Under the Roof (UTR) and On the Road (OTR) operations programs at the dark store level, optimizing inbound, warehouse, and last‑mile delivery processes
- Build low‑cost automations using AI tools such as KIRO, Quick, and related operations to drive efficiency and reduce manual processes
- Prepare and lead the tech roadmap for improvement of the hybrid warehouse management system (HWMS) for inbound and outbound processes
- Prepare and lead the tech roadmap for enhancement of delivery service, working closely with 3rd‑party partners and DSP teams
- Collaborate with worldwide product and tech teams of HWMS/PRIMS and Last Mile to launch products in the Quick Commerce (QC) business
- Work closely with the tech organization to document and drive upcoming changes, leveraging tools such as Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) to ensure seamless integration with the existing system
- Provide regular, concise updates to Tech SME leadership on the progress of system development and its potential impact
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement and Kaizen across tech and operations to optimize processes and reduce SLAs
- Support new store launches, including configurations, Quality Assurance (QA), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and more, coordinating with multiple global product and tech teams and working with external stakeholders to reduce time to launch
- Provide training to operations on new systems and processes
- Maintain strong relationships with the Indo‑Asia, North America, MENA, and Rest of World tech teams working for the QC business
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of cross‑functional work with tech and non‑tech teams
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process‑improvement initiatives using data and metrics
- Bachelor’s degree
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) and SQL
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- 3+ years of driving end‑to‑end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership
- 3+ years of driving process improvements
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
