Role Title

VMware Cloud Architect Consultant

We are seeking a VMware Cloud Architect to lead the design and modernization of enterprise infrastructure using VMware Cloud Foundation. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients to assess current environments, define future‑state architectures, and drive hybrid cloud adoption strategies.

• Participate in client discovery sessions to understand infrastructure, cloud, availability, security and modernization requirements.
• Assess existing VMware environments, identifying gaps, risks, optimization opportunities and modernization pathways.
• Design end‑to‑end VMware Cloud Foundation architectures including compute, storage, networking, security, lifecycle management and operations.
• Develop high‑level and low‑level designs (HLD/LLD), migration strategies and implementation roadmaps.
• Enable hybrid cloud integration with public cloud platforms, including Alibaba Cloud where applicable.

• Strong experience with VMware technologies, particularly VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF); solid understanding of virtualization, data center architecture and enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience in cloud architecture and hybrid cloud integration.
• Knowledge of networking, storage and security within VMware environments.
• Ability to design scalable, highly available and secure infrastructure solutions.
• Experience in infrastructure assessment, migration planning and modernization initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management and consulting skills.

• Experience with Alibaba Cloud or other public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Exposure to multi‑cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
• Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools.
• Relevant VMware certifications (e.g., VCP, VCAP).

• Strong understanding of private cloud, virtualization, software‑defined data center and hybrid cloud architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with VMware vSphere, vSAN, NSX and VCF architecture components.
• Ability to design scalable, resilient, secure and manageable VMware environments.
• Strong knowledge of compute, storage, network, security, backup and disaster recovery integration.
• Experience with migration planning, platform upgrades, lifecycle management and performance optimization.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex VMware platform infrastructure, networking and storage issues.
• Ability to produce professional technical documentation, architecture diagrams and implementation plans.
