As a VCF Technical Account Manager (TAM) you will enjoy using your technical, communication and collaboration skills to help our customers achieve their full potential through their adoption of VMware by Broadcom technologies.
Upon joining our Customer Success Technical Account Management team, you will bring your authentic self to work and use your skills to make an impact and drive change for our customers, products, and company. You will interact daily with assigned customers and will make a real impact in their success as a business. TAMs find nothing more satisfying than being challenged and turning challenges into positive outcomes.
You will manage your own schedule and priorities to help customers achieve their goals. As a TAM, you have the opportunity to specialize in a VMware solution area by developing and maintaining deep technical knowledge and skills for related VMware by Broadcom products.
- Complete a well-organized five-week onboarding plan during the first year.
- Continue developing and maintaining deep technical knowledge for a given VMware technology area.
- Within three months of engaging customers, articulate their short- and long-term goals, identify gaps, and create a structured engagement plan.
- Establish a long-term relationship with customers.
- Partner with customers to accelerate desired outcomes through best-practice guidance that enables rapid deployments and adoption of VMware technologies.
- Educate customers on emerging technologies and align their technical roadmaps with VMware's.
- Seek VCP (VMware Certified Professional) certification if not already achieved.
- Between six and eleven months, present achievements using internal tools and deliverables.
- Provide project leadership, coordination, and architectural guidance for customer's major VMware initiatives.
- Advocate for customers by providing clear and constructive product feedback to VMware product-management teams based on customer use-cases and requirements.
- Continue pursuing advanced certification and/or knowledge in the solution area you wish to specialize in.
- Leverage a TAM playbook, delivery kits, and tools to guide customers through activities such as delivering technology roadmaps and assessments, providing solution guidance and best-practice reviews, optimizing operations, and offering industry insights and benchmarking for cost savings and risk reduction.
- Use organizational and planning skills to track customer plans, adjust as needed, and drive them to completion.
- Collaborate with the broader VMware account team and specialists to create customers for life and deliver outcome-focused value.
- Contribute back to the global TAM community, sharing experiences and learning from peers.

- Site Recovery Manager
- vCloud Director (low priority)
- Minimum VMware Certified Professional in one domain (multiple domains a plus)
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional (any VCAP level is a plus)
- VCIX
- Industry certifications such as PMP, CISA, ITIL, Azure, AWS, GCP, CCNA/CCNP (a plus)
