Director Of Data

HALA currently holds multiple entities in UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt (including HALA Payments and HALA Logistics) and offers solutions that enable merchants to digitize their payments as well as manage their sales and operations.

Founded in 2017, HALA is currently licensed by the Saudi Arabian Central Bank.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the enterprise data strategy aligned with HALA's business objectives and digital transformation roadmap.
• Establish a modern, scalable, and secure data ecosystem supporting analytics, AI, reporting, and operational decision-making.
• Lead and develop the Data Engineering, BI, Analytics, and Data Governance teams.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Ensure reliable data pipelines integrating payment systems, merchant platforms, financial systems, CRM, and operational applications.
• Drive automation, scalability, availability, and performance of data infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Engineering to establish enterprise data architecture standards.
• Deliver executive dashboards and KPI reporting for senior management and Board Committees.
• Establish enterprise-wide data governance policies, standards, and ownership models.
• Define data quality controls, metadata management, master data management, and data lifecycle processes.
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity across all systems.
• Ensure data management practices comply with: SAMA regulatory requirements, NCA Cybersecurity Controls, Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL)
  Internal security and governance standards.

Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Equivalent years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience

8-10 years
of progressive experience in Data Engineering, Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Data Management.

5+ years
in a leadership role managing enterprise data teams.

Experience in fintech, banking, or financial services is preferred.

Skills

Fluent in English and Arabic.

Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
