About the RoleWe are looking for a motivated Cybersecurity Intern to join our team for a paid, one-year internship, with the opportunity for extension or conversion to a full‑time role based on performance. This internship offers hands‑on exposure to real‑world security operations, governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) practices, and IAM initiatives. It is designed for recent Saudi graduates in Computer Science or related fields who have supplemented their academic background with relevant cybersecurity certifications, and who are eager to build a long‑term career in cybersecurity within the Kingdom.
Key Responsibilities- Support the security team in day-to‑day monitoring, documentation, and reporting activities
- Assist in reviewing security policies, procedures, and control frameworks against recognized standards (e.g., NCA ECC, SAMA CSF, ISO 27001)
- Help conduct access reviews, user account audits, and basic IAM hygiene checks
- Participate in vulnerability scanning, patch tracking, and remediation follow‑up under supervision
- Support security awareness initiatives, including content preparation and campaign tracking
- Assist in documenting incidents, findings, and risk registers
- Contribute to research on emerging threats, tools, and regulatory updates relevant to the Saudi cybersecurity landscape
- Shadow senior consultants/analysts during client or stakeholder engagements
- Prepare summaries, reports, and presentations as directed by the supervising team member
- Take on progressively greater ownership of tasks over the course of the year as skills develop
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a closely related field (recent graduate — within the last 1–2 years)
Certifications (at least one preferred, in addition to or in lieu of extensive experience)
- CompTIA Security+
- CompTIA Network+
- (ISC)² Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)
- Cisco Certified Cyber Ops Associate
- EC-Council CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) — Associate/Foundational level
- Any equivalent foundational cybersecurity certification
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs)
- Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Awareness of security fundamentals: CIA triad, threat landscape, common attack vectors
- Exposure to at least one scripting language (Python, Power Shell, or Bash) is a plus
- Basic knowledge of security tools (SIEM, vulnerability scanners) is a plus, not mandatory
Other Requirements
- Saudi National (mandatory — position restricted to Saudi locals under Saudization requirements)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English
- Eager to learn, detail‑oriented, and able to work both independently and within a team
- Genuine interest in pursuing a long‑term career in cybersecurity/GRC
- Available to commit to a full one‑year term
- Duration: 1 year initially, with extension or conversion to a permanent role considered based on performance
- Compensation: Paid monthly stipend/salary (amount to be specified by HR/finance)
- Performance reviewed periodically (e.g., quarterly or at mid-point) to assess progress and conversion potential
- Hands‑on mentorship from experienced cybersecurity and GRC professionals
- Exposure to real client engagements in government and financial sector environments
- A full year of structured learning across GRC, IAM, and technical security domains
- Strong potential path to full‑time employment based on performance
