Position SummaryTangent International is seeking a highly experienced IMS Technical Authority to provide technical leadership, governance, architecture oversight, and operational support for large-scale IMS platforms. This role is ideal for senior telecom professionals with extensive expertise in IMS architecture, VoLTE, Vo Wi Fi , SIP signaling, and core network services who can act as the highest technical escalation point for mission-critical mobile services.

As the IMS Technical Authority, you will be responsible for defining and governing IMS architecture standards, reviewing technical designs, leading major change assessments, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of IMS services. You will work closely with vendors, operations teams, service delivery groups, and network engineering teams to maintain optimal service performance across VoLTE, Vo Wi Fi , and next-generation communication platforms.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for IMS transformation initiatives, support operational excellence, and ensure compliance with capacity, availability, & SLA requirements. This role combines architecture governance, technical decision-making, and advanced troubleshooting within a large-scale telecommunications environment.
- Govern IMS architecture, technical standards, configurations, upgrades, and service integrations.
- Review and approve technical designs covering Core IMS platforms and services.
- Oversee architecture involving CSCF, SBC, TAS, HSS/UDM, ENUM, and PCRF/PCF platforms.
- Assess technical risks, service impacts, and implementation strategies for network changes.
- Act as the highest technical escalation point for complex IMS incidents and performance issues.
- Ensure platform availability, scalability, resilience, security, and SLA compliance.
- Lead design reviews, technical governance activities, and architecture validation processes.
- Conduct change-impact assessments and review implementation plans.
- Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action initiatives for critical service issues.
- Collaborate with vendors, project teams, operations teams, and SNOC organizations.
- Support capacity planning and future service evolution strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across IMS services and platforms.
- Extensive experience working with IMS core network architectures.
- Strong expertise in SIP signaling protocols.
- Advanced knowledge of Diameter protocol and interworking functions.
- Experience with RTP media handling and session management.
- Knowledge of HTTP/REST integration within telecommunications environments.
- Hands-on experience with:
- CSCFs (P-CSCF, I-CSCF, S-CSCF)
- Session Border Controllers (SBC)
- Telephony Application Servers (TAS)
- HSS / UDM Platforms
- ENUM Services
- PCRF / PCF Platforms
- Proven experience supporting large-scale VoLTE deployments.
- Proven experience supporting Vo Wi Fi services.
- Strong understanding of IMS-based communication services and service orchestration.
- Experience with high-availability and redundancy architectures.
- Strong capacity planning and performance management expertise.
- Ability to translate business requirements into resilient technical solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
- Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills.
- Experience with 5G Core integration and IMS interworking.
- Multi-vendor IMS deployment experience.
- Experience with Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, ZTE, Oracle, or Ribbon IMS environments.
- Knowledge of roaming, interconnect, and service assurance platforms.
- Experience with network automation and orchestration tools.
- Background in carrier-grade network operations and service delivery.
- Experience leading large telecom modernization and transformation projects.
- IMS vendor certifications and advanced telecom certifications.
