Role ContextThe GIS Specialist will transform complex project and asset information into structured geospatial datasets that support engineering analysis, planning, coordination, and infrastructure decision-making. The role extends beyond conventional mapping into geodatabase design, spatial systems architecture, GIS application evaluation, and integration with BIM and asset management environments. Accurate spatial information will help multidisciplinary teams understand project conditions, coordinate infrastructure interfaces, and maintain dependable location-based data throughout project delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, manage, and analyze GIS datasets supporting rail, metro, transportation, and infrastructure projects.
- Create sophisticated maps and spatial outputs using ArcGIS and associated geospatial technologies.
- Design, develop, configure, and maintain project geodatabases and spatial database structures.
- Compile information from multiple technical sources and convert it into consistent, quality-controlled GIS datasets.
- Perform spatial analysis to support engineering studies, infrastructure planning, asset information, and project decision-making.
- Apply GIS database, mapping, spreadsheet, and analytical software to complex project requirements.
- Integrate geospatial information with BIM models, engineering systems, and asset management platforms.
- Establish effective workflows for exchanging data between GIS and other digital engineering environments.
- Develop approaches for geospatial data integration across multiple project disciplines and information sources.
- Support the architecture of GIS systems required to manage complex infrastructure and asset information.
- Evaluate commercial GIS applications and determine their suitability for project and client requirements.
- Contribute to the design and development of GIS applications for internal workflows and client deliverables.
- Perform data validation and quality checks to improve spatial accuracy, consistency, completeness, and usability.
- Coordinate GIS requirements with engineers, BIM specialists, survey teams, asset management personnel, project managers, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare technical reports, analytical outputs, maps, and supporting geospatial documentation for project teams and clients.
- Resolve GIS data, database, mapping, and integration issues independently while escalating unusual technical problems where specialist guidance is required.
- Maintain structured spatial information so that project teams can efficiently retrieve, analyze, and reuse geospatial data throughout the project lifecycle.
Candidates should hold a bachelor 's degree in GIS, Geomatics, Surveying, Geography, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline and possess at least 12 years of professional GIS experience. A minimum of 5 years…
