Position Summary:
SIS Global is actively seeking an experienced, high-caliber, and technical Switch Engineer specializing in Field Services to join our telecommunications operations team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on a full-time permanent basis. In this critical field engineering role, you will be responsible for supporting Service Core and Value-Added Services (VAS) networks within a Managed Services environment, performing onsite Operations & Maintenance (O&M), hardware replacements, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
You will leverage your 5+ years of core network field experience, mandatory prior Ericsson background, and deep expertise in GSM and UMTS technologies to ensure uncompromised network performance. Job Description:
As a Switch Engineer supporting Field Services in Riyadh via SIS Global, you will take full operational, tactical, and technical ownership of Service Core and VAS network availability across client sites. Your day-to-day responsibilities include performing comprehensive O&M activities on core nodes including MSC, HLR, BSC, STP, MGW, RNC, HSS, GGSN, and SGSN, executing hardware replacements, and troubleshooting Ericsson equipment. You will handle core transmission, signaling issues, ODF/DDF connections, preventive maintenance, system backups, health checks, and Voice Quality Tests (VQT).
Furthermore, you will support commissioning, Provisional Acceptance Testing (PAT), network migrations, Modernization & Data Technology (MDT) upgrades, rehoming, and node power activities while ensuring strict compliance with KPI and SLA requirements using tools such as ENM, WFM, RTTS, and NAIM.
- Perform O&M activities on critical Core nodes including MSC, HLR, BSC, STP, MGW, RNC, HSS, GGSN, and SGSN.
- Execute hardware replacements, physical inspections, and expert troubleshooting of Ericsson core equipment.
- Handle core transmission, signaling issues, ODF/DDF optical connections, and related on-site field activities.
- Conduct preventive maintenance routines, system backups, comprehensive health checks, and Voice Quality Tests (VQT).
- Support site commissioning, Provisional Acceptance Testing (PAT), network migrations, MDTs, rehoming, and node power activities.
- Ensure network performance metrics meet agreed Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.
- Utilize advanced network management and operational tools including ENM, WFM, RTTS, and NAIM.
- Maintain meticulous field service logs, incident reports, and technical documentation for all on-site interventions.
Qualifications & Skills:
- University degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional field services experience specializing in mobile core network operations and maintenance.
- Mandatory prior professional hands-on experience working with Ericsson core network equipment and platforms.
- Strong practical knowledge and operational background in GSM and UMTS cellular technologies.
- Proven troubleshooting expertise in core network switches, signaling protocols, and transmission links.
- Familiarity with Work Force Management (WFM) systems, trouble ticketing applications, and operational toolsets.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication capabilities.
- Mandatory legal eligibility to work in Saudi Arabia with availability for 100% onsite operations in Riyadh.
Skills:
- Advanced professional certifications (e.g., Ericsson Certified Associate/Professional, CISSP, ITIL).
- Prior professional experience working within tier-1 telecom operators (such as STC) or global managed service providers in the GCC.
- Direct hands-on familiarity with 4G LTE EPC and 5G Core (5GC) network architecture elements.
- Advanced proficiency in scripting or automation tools for routine network health check reporting.
- Strong background in emergency incident management and high-severity outage resolution.
