OpenShift Senior Engineer

Design, deploy and manage Red Hat Open Shift Container Platform environments to ensure availability, scalability, security and operational stability. Support platform automation and lifecycle management while collaborating with internal teams and vendors to meet business and application requirements.

• Design, deploy, configure and maintain Open Shift environments across bare-metal and virtualised infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform and infrastructure issues to maintain performance and stability.
• Manage the cluster lifecycle, including capacity planning, upgrades, patching, scaling and decommissioning.
• Implement and maintain high availability, scalability and security across Open Shift environments.
• Automate platform provisioning and operations using Ansible, Git Ops with Argo CD, and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Integrate Open Shift with load balancers, MetalLB, ingress, DNS, firewalls and storage solutions, including SAN, NFS and Ceph/Open Shift Data Foundation.
• Implement security and compliance controls, including role-based access control, identity and access management, image security, vulnerability scanning and secrets management.
• Collaborate with application, security, network and infrastructure teams to support application onboarding and ongoing operations.
• Monitor cluster health and performance using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk and ELK, and respond to incidents.
• Maintain architecture documentation, operational procedures, runbooks and platform best practices.
• Coordinate with vendors and provide technical guidance to engineering, application, operations and support teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in platform engineering or similar roles, with strong hands‑on Open Shift experience.
• Strong knowledge of Red Hat Open Shift Container Platform and Kubernetes concepts, including pods, deployments, services, ingress and operators.
• Experience in Linux system administration and container technologies.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, load balancing, DNS, firewalls and ingress configuration.
• Understanding of storage concepts and integration with SAN, NFS and Ceph/Open Shift Data Foundation.
• Scripting and automation skills, including experience with Ansible, Git Ops and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex platform and infrastructure issues.
• Strong communication, technical documentation and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
