Role Summary

The Legal Specialist provides hands‑on legal support across the organization, focusing on contract drafting and review, legal research, compliance support, and case/document management. The role works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure commercial arrangements are legally sound, risks are identified and mitigated, and legal documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with applicable Saudi laws and company governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Drafting & Review
  • Draft, review, and revise a variety of legal documents and agreements (services, procurement, NDAs, MOUs, leases, construction-related contracts, etc.).
  • Ensure contractual terms appropriately allocate risk (liability, indemnities, penalties, warranties, limitation of liability) and align with company policies and approvals (DOA).
  • Support negotiations by preparing redlines, summaries, and key risk notes.
  • Legal Advisory Support
  • Provide day‑to‑day legal support to business units by answering legal queries and escalating complex matters to the Legal Advisor/Manager as required.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare concise legal memoranda and recommendations.
  • Governance & Compliance
  • Support internal governance processes by ensuring legal documentation is complete, properly approved, and correctly archived.
  • Monitor and summarize regulatory updates relevant to the company’s activities and support internal compliance initiatives.
  • Assist in maintaining standard templates, clause libraries, and legal playbooks to improve turnaround times and consistency.
  • Support dispute and claims matters by collecting documents, organizing evidence, maintaining case files, and tracking deadlines.
  • Coordinate with external counsel when needed (document requests, status updates, invoices, and deliverables), under supervision.
  • Legal Documentation & Records Management
  • Maintain accurate legal records, contract registers, and document repositories.
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive information and client/vendor data.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Investment, HR, Projects, and Operations to ensure legal requirements are met throughout the contracting lifecycle.
  • Support process improvements to reduce contract cycle time and improve internal service quality.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (or equivalent). Professional certifications are a plus.
  • Experience: Typically 5–8+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in corporate/commercial legal work within investment groups, diversified companies, or complex contracting environments.
  • Strong exposure to commercial contracts and legal documentation practices.
  • Working knowledge of Saudi legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to corporate and commercial activities.
  • Excellent Arabic drafting skills; strong English proficiency is preferred (for bilingual contracts and correspondence).
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with contract management tools is a plus.
