About the RoleWe are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Material Planner to join our Supply Chain team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating material requirements to ensure uninterrupted production operations while optimizing inventory levels and supporting on-time customer deliveries.
This role plays a critical part in balancing material availability, production schedules, and inventory optimization by utilizing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and collaborating closely with Procurement, Production, Engineering, and Warehouse teams.
Key Responsibilities Material Planning & MRP- Plan and manage material requirements based on the Master Production Schedule (MPS) using MRP systems.
- Determine material quantities, reorder points, and purchase requirements to support production demand.
- Generate purchase requisitions and coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely material availability.
- Monitor material shortages and proactively resolve supply issues to avoid production delays.
- Support production planning through accurate demand forecasting and material scheduling.
- Monitor inventory levels to maintain optimum stock while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Coordinate material movements between suppliers, warehouses, and production facilities.
- Track fast-moving and critical inventory items to ensure continuous production.
- Conduct inventory analysis and recommend stock optimization initiatives.
- Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy programs.
- Work closely with Procurement, Engineering, Production, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow.
- Coordinate with suppliers to monitor delivery schedules and expedite urgent material requirements.
- Support supplier performance monitoring and material availability planning.
- Ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and consumables.
- Analyze demand forecasts and production plans to determine future material requirements.
- Prepare material planning reports, inventory reports, shortage reports, and procurement forecasts.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems and business intelligence tools to support planning decisions.
- Monitor KPIs related to inventory, material availability, supplier performance, and production support.
- Bachelor's Degree in:
Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management Or a related discipline
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Material Planning, Production Planning, Procurement, or Supply Chain within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems in industrial or manufacturing operations.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, engineering, or heavy industry is preferred.
