Merchandise Manager — Construction Materials Job Riyadh area,Riyadh Region Saudi Arabia,Supply Chain/Logistics

1. Demand Discovery:
Conduct frequent on-site visits to customer construction projects and sites to communicate, dig into and sort out customers’ construction material procurement demands accurately.

2. Category Planning:
Take over business opportunities from sales teams, conduct product selection, category layout and medium-long term category planning for the Saudi construction materials market.

3. Market Research:
Research local construction material market demand, competitor product assortment and price system; optimize cross-border & local product portfolio to lift category sales volume and gross profit.

4. Supply Optimization:
Cooperate with procurement & supplier teams to optimize product supply structure, manage product lifecycle, adjust SKU mix and eliminate low-performing goods.

5. Data & Operations:
Track category operation data including sales, inventory and gross margin; output regular analysis reports and propose category operation optimization plans.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with local sales, warehouse and logistics teams to align product supply with customer demand, support stable delivery and after-sales product matching.

7. Strategic Support:
Assist regional lead to roll out localized category operation strategies, expand high-quality construction material resources matching Saudi market needs and Chinese client requirements.

Job Requirements

1.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or above, major in Civil Engineering, Construction Materials, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related fields is preferred.

2.

Work Experience:

5-10 years in construction materials / building materials industry. Solid familiarity with structural materials (steel, cement, concrete), finishing materials, MEP materials, and construction consumables. Candidates with experience from construction companies, real estate developers, or engineering firms as material engineers / procurement managers are highly preferred. Candidates with both sales and procurement background are a plus.

3. Language:
Fluent business English is required. Chinese (Mandarin) proficiency is strongly preferred — the role requires frequent communication with Chinese clients and HQ teams. Arabic is a plus but not mandatory.

4.

Competencies:

Able to independently complete customer demand sorting, product selection and category planning; good data analysis, market insight and cross-team coordination skills; accept frequent cross-city customer site trips within Saudi Arabia.
