Role ContextThe Logistics Coordinator will provide day-to-day coordination of the physical movement of people, materials, vehicles, equipment, and temporary resources across active construction areas. The role is especially important where airport operations, security-controlled zones, multiple contractors, restricted access, and high-volume delivery schedules create complex logistics constraints. By maintaining clear delivery plans, access controls, traffic routes, and work-front coordination, the position will help reduce congestion, prevent delays, improve site safety, and support uninterrupted construction productivity.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate daily construction logistics activities across assigned work areas and project packages.
- Support implementation and regular updating of the Construction Logistics Plan.
- Coordinate material deliveries, unloading, site access, storage, handling, and internal distribution.
- Develop delivery schedules in coordination with contractors, suppliers, transporters, and construction teams.
- Manage delivery booking systems and vehicle access arrangements.
- Coordinate access requirements for construction personnel, equipment, transporters, and specialist vehicles.
- Ensure deliveries comply with approved working hours, security restrictions, route limitations, and site conditions.
- Plan logistics requirements for large, heavy, oversized, and specialist equipment deliveries.
- Manage laydown areas, staging zones, temporary storage yards, and material handling locations.
- Coordinate with Construction teams to verify work-front readiness before planned deliveries.
- Work with Procurement, Warehousing, and site teams to align material availability with construction priorities.
- Maintain accurate delivery schedules, logistics trackers, vehicle movement records, and material movement logs.
- Monitor site congestion and identify access or logistics constraints before they affect productivity.
- Coordinate internal construction traffic movements and approved vehicle routes.
- Support implementation of Site Traffic Management Plans and temporary routing arrangements.
- Coordinate with Traffic and HSE teams to maintain safe separation between pedestrians, vehicles, and heavy equipment.
- Monitor haul routes, temporary roads, access roads, construction gates, and logistics corridors.
- Coordinate temporary route closures, diversions, and changes to site access arrangements.
- Manage logistics activities within airside, landside, restricted, and security-controlled airport areas where applicable.
- Coordinate with Airport Operations and Security on access permits, vehicle passes, driver approvals, and operational restrictions.
- Ensure airport-related logistics activities comply with applicable safety, security, and operational requirements.
- Work with HSE teams to verify safe delivery, unloading, storage, and movement of materials and equipment.
- Confirm logistics activities follow approved Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and project procedures.
- Support planning and coordination of lifting and unloading activities.
- Coordinate access requirements for cranes, heavy transporters, mobile equipment, and specialist machinery.
- Support logistics planning for major construction milestones and high-volume delivery periods.
- Identify logistics conflicts between contractors, work fronts, and project packages.
- Coordinate shared logistics resources, access routes, storage areas, and laydown zones.
- Monitor contractor compliance with approved construction logistics requirements.
- Conduct regular site walks to identify congestion, access restrictions, poor housekeeping, unsafe practices, and storage problems.
