About Saudi Gold Refinery

Saudi Gold Refinery (SGR) is a Saudi mining and precious-metals company specialized in the refining of gold and precious metals, bullion production, and value-added precious-metal services. Operating within the Kingdom's mining value chain, SGR is aligned to the Vision 2030 mining pillar and to the regulatory framework set by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources (MIM) and applicable Saudi and international standards.

Role Overview

Saudi Gold Refinery (SGR) is seeking a Logistics Manager in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to manage day-to-day logistics activities supporting the company's general operations. The role coordinates transportation, deliveries, suppliers, freight forwarders, shipment schedules, and logistics documentation to ensure materials and operational supplies move efficiently and on time.

The Logistics Manager will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager and work closely with Procurement, Warehousing, Finance, Projects, Operations, and other internal departments. The position is responsible for reliable logistics execution, vendor coordination, cost control, shipment visibility, and continuous improvement of logistics processes.

Key Responsibilities

The Logistics Manager will execute the following responsibilities to support efficient, reliable, and compliant logistics operations.

Shipment Planning & Scheduling

Plan and coordinate inbound, outbound, and domestic shipments based on operational priorities. Prepare delivery schedules, confirm transport availability, follow up on dispatches, and proactively address delays or capacity constraints.

Coordinate with freight forwarders, transport companies, couriers, and other logistics service providers. Select practical transport solutions, follow shipment progress, confirm deliveries, and resolve transportation issues in a timely manner.

Supplier & Delivery Coordination

Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to confirm collection dates, delivery windows, quantities, documentation, and receiving requirements. Ensure materials and supplies are delivered to the correct location according to agreed schedules.

Manage logistics vendors and service providers to maintain reliable service and competitive costs. Monitor KPIs, service levels, response times, delivery performance, and commercial terms, and support vendor evaluations and contract renewals.

Inventory & Warehouse Coordination

Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams to align shipment arrivals, receiving capacity, stock requirements, transfers, and dispatch priorities. Maintain clear records of movements and support the timely resolution of logistics or inventory discrepancies.

Customs & Logistics Documentation

Prepare and review shipping and customs documentation where applicable, including invoices, packing lists, delivery notes, transport documents, and clearance requirements. Coordinate with customs brokers and relevant parties to avoid preventable delays and documentation errors.

Team Coordination & HSE Compliance

Supervise or coordinate logistics staff as assigned, communicate daily priorities, and support performance and training needs. Ensure logistics activities follow company HSE requirements, site rules, and applicable transportation regulations.

Process Optimization & Reporting

Maintain logistics records, shipment trackers, cost data, and performance reports. Develop and improve standard operating procedures, identify recurring bottlenecks, and implement practical improvements that increase visibility, efficiency, and service reliability.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of progressive logistics or supply chain experience, preferably in industrial, mining, construction, manufacturing, or multi-site operations.
  • Hands-on experience in transportation planning, shipment scheduling, supplier coordination, freight forwarding, and delivery follow-up.
  • Good knowledge of Saudi customs procedures, import/export documentation, and domestic logistics requirements where applicable.
  • Experience coordinating warehousing, inventory movements, logistics records, and receiving or dispatch activities.
  • Strong vendor-management, negotiation, problem-solving, and cost-control capabilities, with experience managing third-party logistics providers.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic for effective communication with suppliers, service providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel domestically or visit operational sites as required.
Preferred / Nice-to-have
  • Professional certification in logistics or supply chain management, such as CILT, CLTD, CSCP, or an equivalent qualification.
