The Senior O&M Professional will help maintain the continuity, safety, reliability, and efficiency of city-scale infrastructure after assets move from development into active operation. The role will oversee day-to-day operational performance while shaping maintenance strategies that protect asset condition and extend useful service life. Working across utilities, public infrastructure, facilities, district cooling, and smart city systems, the position will connect operations teams with engineering, development, contractors, service providers, and senior management.
Its impact will be measured through uptime, response performance, asset reliability, lifecycle cost, SLA compliance, and the quality of operational handovers.
- Direct day-to-day operations and maintenance activities across assigned city infrastructure and municipal services.
- Coordinate operational priorities across utilities, facilities, public assets, and supporting technical systems.
- Ensure services are delivered safely, consistently, and in accordance with approved operating procedures.
- Maintain compliance with applicable Saudi Arabian health, safety, environmental, municipal, and engineering requirements.
- Monitor operational performance against agreed service standards.
- Manage SLAs and KPIs across internal teams and outsourced service providers.
- Identify recurring service failures and implement practical corrective measures.
- Escalate critical operational risks affecting public safety, reliability, or continuity of service.
- Develop preventive maintenance programs for critical city assets.
- Establish predictive maintenance strategies using condition and performance information where available.
- Direct corrective maintenance activities arising from faults, breakdowns, inspections, or operational incidents.
- Review maintenance frequencies and optimize schedules according to asset condition and operational risk.
- Improve maintenance effectiveness while reducing unnecessary downtime and reactive work.
- Monitor planned and unplanned maintenance performance through CMMS data.
- Track backlog, overdue work orders, response times, completion rates, and repeat failures.
- Support maintenance prioritization based on asset criticality.
- Oversee asset lifecycle management from commissioning and handover through operation, renewal, and decommissioning.
- Maintain awareness of asset condition, reliability, remaining life, and replacement requirements.
- Coordinate development of asset registers and maintenance records.
- Review lifecycle strategies for major mechanical, electrical, civil, utility, and facilities assets.
- Identify renewal or replacement requirements before performance deterioration creates operational risk.
- Support long-term asset investment planning using condition, maintenance, and reliability information.
- Maximize uptime of essential infrastructure and utility networks.
- Monitor service continuity across critical assets and systems.
- Review breakdown trends and recurring faults to identify underlying causes.
- Coordinate technical investigations and root cause analysis for significant failures.
- Recommend asset improvements that increase reliability, resilience, or maintainability.
- Support operational readiness activities before new infrastructure is accepted into service.
- Work with development and engineering teams during testing, commissioning, handover, and transition into operations.
- Review O&M manuals, asset information, warranties, training requirements, and commissioning records.
- Identify missing handover information that could affect maintainability or safe operation.
- Participate in asset inspections before operational acceptance.
- Ensure defects affecting operational performance are tracked through closure.
- Coordinate integration of new assets into maintenance systems and operational procedures.
