Role ContextGiga programs require disciplined operational management to coordinate large work forces, complex financial commitments, multidisciplinary delivery teams, and demanding client expectations. The Operations Manager will establish the structure, resources, and controls needed for the project office to meet its business and delivery objectives. The position combines strategic planning with direct accountability for financial performance, staffing, proposals, contracts, operational risk, and governance. Effective leadership will strengthen profitability, resource readiness, project execution, employee performance, and long-term client confidence.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, direct, supervise, and control daily project-office operations.
- Coordinate business, technical, financial, administrative, marketing, and business-development activities.
- Establish strategic, operational, and financial goals aligned with regional and corporate objectives.
- Determine workforce and resource requirements across current and planned projects.
- Lead efforts to acquire, develop, deploy, and retain the necessary project resources.
- Align policies, procedures, workforce capabilities, and performance metrics with business requirements.
- Provide day-to-day leadership to multidisciplinary project teams and support functions.
- Promote accountability, collaboration, ethical conduct, and consistent operational performance.
- Monitor financial information and reporting across the project office.
- Review individual project performance, overhead reports, and accounts-receivable aging.
- Investigate financial variances and initiate timely follow-up or corrective action.
- Prepare annual operating budgets, capital requests, and financial projections.
- Maintain compliance with corporate financial policies while improving profitability and cost efficiency.
- Establish annual salary-increase budgets within approved corporate limits.
- Approve salary actions and monitor expenditure against the authorized budget.
- Approve hiring and termination decisions within the project office.
- Ensure staffing levels remain aligned with workload, project demand, and business priorities.
- Review and approve annual performance evaluations for project employees and support staff.
- Maintain compliance with Human Resources policies and support a fair, inclusive, and performance-focused workplace.
- Contribute to marketing strategies that strengthen business growth and market position.
- Participate in the preparation and review of major proposals and lump-sum bids.
- Serve as Principal-in-Charge for significant project proposals when required.
- Review and approve pricing strategies to balance competitiveness, risk, and profitability.
- Make bid-no-bid decisions for major opportunities and firm fixed-price contracts.
- Negotiate and sign teaming agreements with partners and subcontractors.
