What the role coversThe Executive Director will oversee commercial activities for large construction development projects at Qiddiya in Riyadh. The advert places the position in the Entertainment business unit and assigns responsibility for commercial strategy, contract negotiations and management of the commercial team. Budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting sit within the remit.
The appointee will work with project directors, legal teams and external partners on commercial risks and opportunities. Other duties include improving commercial processes and systems, maintaining relationships with contractors and suppliers, and checking compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements and internal policies. Leadership responsibilities include mentoring staff and supporting their professional development.
A bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related subject is required. A master's degree or professional qualifications such as RICS or MCIOB are highly desirable. Applicants need at least 15 years of commercial management experience in large construction developments, including seven years in senior leadership.
The employer also seeks experience of substantial project budgets, contract negotiations and commercial management software. Middle Eastern construction market experience is preferred.
