Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Safety Specialist to join our team on the Cliff Stabilization Project. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting site safety, health, and environmental compliance across the full development.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Assists the Project or Program Manager in administering SH&E programs across the project.
- Audits project activities and worksites to ensure compliance with Parsons’ corporate standards.
- Conducts regular site inspections to identify hazards and provides guidance to eliminate or control SH&E risks.
- Prepares and submits written audit, inspection, and corrective action reports.
- Monitors work planning and execution to verify alignment with Parsons’ Environmental, Safety, Health, and Risk Program (ESHARP).
- Implements Parsons’ occupational injury and incident reporting and management processes.
- Performs trend analysis on audit findings, inspection results, and incident reports, and prepares periodic analysis reports.
- Supports new hire SH&E orientations and onboarding activities.
- Delivers regulatory and best-practice SH&E training sessions.
- Creates, maintains, and updates SH&E training and compliance records.
- Participates in routine toolbox talks and safe work briefings.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Typically 2+ years of experience in health, safety, and environmental roles within construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
- Working knowledge of federal and local SH&E regulations and reporting procedures.
- Familiarity with safety-related national consensus standards (e.g., ANSI, NFPA).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence safe behaviors on site.
- Experience working on construction or stabilization projects is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams in dynamic site environments.
