Job Title :
Quality Control Engineer Experience Required

Minimum 3 years in the contracting and construction sector

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Engineer to join our contracting and construction company. The candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the project quality management system, ensuring that all executed works comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, and applicable codes and standards, and driving continuous improvement across all site activities.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control/assurance within the construction/contracting sector.
  • Solid knowledge of quality management systems and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and international codes and standards (ACI, ASTM, BS, SBC, etc.).
  • Experience preparing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality checklists.
  • Familiarity with material testing procedures and laboratory reports for concrete, soil, and finishing works.
  • Excellent reporting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and quality management/reporting tools.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement, monitor, and maintain the project Quality Management System (QMS) on site.
  • Prepare and review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality checklists, and method statements.
  • Conduct inspections of ongoing works and materials to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and approved standards.
  • Raise, track, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Review and approve material submittals and coordinate material inspection requests with the consultant.
  • Coordinate and witness site testing and third-party laboratory tests, and verify test results and reports.
  • Maintain complete quality records, inspection requests (IRs), and documentation for handover.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other engineering disciplines on quality matters.
  • Conduct internal quality audits and support close-out of snag lists prior to handover.
  • Promote quality awareness and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards across the project team and subcontractors.
