Role ContextThe Quality Assurance Specialist will provide practical field assurance that construction activities are performed in accordance with approved technical documentation before work is accepted or allowed to progress. The position will combine site surveillance, inspection coordination, document review, non-conformance management, testing oversight, and quality performance reporting. Within an airport environment, the role must also manage interfaces between multiple construction disciplines and account for the additional controls associated with operational and restricted areas.
Effective quality oversight will help prevent defective work, reduce rework, maintain traceable records, and improve readiness for commissioning and final asset acceptance.
- Support implementation of the approved Project Quality Management System.
- Apply requirements established within the Project Quality Plan.
- Monitor construction activities against approved quality procedures and specifications.
- Verify compliance with relevant contractual and technical requirements.
- Conduct routine quality surveillance across active work areas.
- Perform field inspections of assigned construction activities.
- Support planned project quality audits.
- Review Method Statements before associated work begins.
- Evaluate Inspection and Test Plans against project requirements.
- Review inspection checklists and related QA/QC procedures.
- Confirm inspection stages and acceptance requirements are clearly established.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor implementation of approved quality controls.
- Review Work Inspection Requests and supporting documentation.
- Review Material Inspection Requests before materials are incorporated into the works.
- Examine certificates, laboratory reports, test results, and traceability information.
- Verify materials and equipment against approved technical submissions.
- Confirm workmanship meets approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor implementation of Hold Points and Witness Points.
- Ensure required inspections occur before concealed or subsequent activities proceed.
- Coordinate inspection attendance with contractors, consultants, and Client representatives.
- Maintain accurate inspection status information.
- Monitor civil works for quality and specification compliance.
- Verify structural construction activities within assigned inspection scope.
- Assess architectural work and finishing quality where applicable.
- Monitor MEP installation and associated inspection requirements.
- Review infrastructure construction and utility installation quality.
- Support verification of specialist airport systems and construction packages.
- Conduct site checks against the latest approved drawings.
- Identify work performed using superseded or unapproved information.
- Monitor construction sequencing where inspections and testing affect release of subsequent work.
- Review laboratory testing associated with construction materials.
- Review field testing results and identify failed requirements.
- Verify calibration records for testing and inspection equipment.
- Check material delivery condition and associated documentation.
- Monitor material storage and handling practices.
- Verify traceability of controlled construction materials.
- Identify rejected or unsuitable materials before installation.

- Verify closure through objective evidence.
- Maintain current NCR and quality observation logs.
- Escalate overdue or repeated non-conformances.
- Analyze patterns in NCRs, inspection failures, defects, and rework.
- Identify recurring causes requiring management intervention.
- Support quality trend analysis and preventive improvement measures.
- Assist Engineering and Design teams with quality-related reviews.
