Overview
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and creative Sushi Chef with proven experience in the Saudi Arabian market to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in preparing high-quality sushi, sashimi, and related Japanese dishes while maintaining international standards and adapting to local market preferences.
Note: Filipino nationality is preferred; however, all nationalities are welcome to apply. Saudi residency is mandatory, and applicants must provide a professional portfolio of previous work.
Responsibilities- Prepare, cook, and present a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, rolls, and related Japanese menu items in line with company standards.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, portioning, and presentation of all sushi products.
- Prepare ingredients including rice, seafood, sauces, and garnishes according to approved recipes and hygiene standards.
- Develop new sushi concepts and seasonal menu items that align with customer preferences in the Saudi market.
- Manage daily sushi kitchen operations, including prep schedules and production planning.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation in compliance with KSA regulations.
- Control food costs, minimize waste, and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
- Collaborate with kitchen and management teams to support menu development and special events.
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff when required.
- Saudi Residency (Iqama) is mandatory.
- Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience as a Sushi Chef, with hands-on experience in the Saudi market.
- Filipino nationality preferred; all nationalities are welcome to apply.
- Strong understanding of local customer preferences and market trends in KSA.
- Experience with various sushi styles (e.g., Maki, Nigiri, Sashimi, Uramaki, specialty rolls).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail, knife skills, and creativity in presentation.
- Applicants must provide a professional portfolio showcasing previous work.
- Portfolio may include high-quality photos, menus, concept work, or signature sushi creations.
- Experience working with restaurants, hotels, or Japanese cuisine concepts in KSA is highly preferred.
