Job summaryWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced merchandise manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all merchandising activities across a wide range of products. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage and align the efforts of the product & design, marketing, and warehouse/factory teams, while also taking full ownership of the online store's operations and performance.
The ideal candidate brings a blend of analytical, creative, and operational expertise to support product development, optimize inventory, increase sales, and elevate brand presence across digital and physical channels.
Key responsibilitiesMerchandising strategy & execution
- Develop and implement merchandise strategies to support sales goals, seasonal trends, and market opportunities.
- Oversee the product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life, including assortment planning, pricing, and promotional planning.
- Monitor product performance, sell-through rates, and inventory levels to make data-driven decisions.
E-commerce & online store management
- Manage the online store, ensuring product listings, content, pricing, and promotions are accurate and optimized for user experience and conversions.
- Collaborate with IT or platform managers to troubleshoot technical issues and enhance site functionality.
- Analyze digital KPIs including traffic, conversion, average order value (AOV), and cart abandonment to optimize store performance.
Cross‑departmental leadership
- Lead and coordinate the efforts of the product/design, marketing, and warehouse/factory departments to ensure alignment with merchandising goals.
- Guide the design team in aligning product development with trends and market demand.
- Work closely with the marketing team to ensure consistent brand messaging and campaign effectiveness.
- Coordinate with warehouse and factory teams to manage timelines, production capacity, and logistics.
Team & operational management
- Set goals, establish KPIs, and manage performance reviews for direct reports.
- Create efficient workflows and foster cross‑functional collaboration.
- Ensure that merchandising practices support sustainability, quality control, and compliance standards.
- Bachelor's degree in merchandising, business, marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in merchandising, with a strong background in multi‑category product management.
- Proven leadership experience managing cross‑functional teams.
- Experience running an online store (e.g., Shopify, Magento, Woo Commerce) and using relevant e‑commerce tools and analytics platforms.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Familiarity with supply chain and production management.
- Proficiency in tools like Excel, Google Analytics, Shopify Admin, and project management platforms (e.g., Asana, Trello).
- Knowledge of consumer trends and digital marketing best practices.
