Commercial Manager - Butchery

Develop and execute commercial strategies for fresh meat and butchery categories.

Responsibilities

• Manage category P&L, sales performance, margins, and market share.
• Build and maintain relationships with local and international meat suppliers.
• Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing, rebates, and promotional support.
• Define product assortment, range reviews, and seasonal commercial plans.
• Monitor competitors, market trends, and customer buying behavior.
• Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to ensure product availability.
• Drive promotional calendars and pricing strategies to maximize revenue and margin.
• Analyze category performance and implement corrective actions when required.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, Food Science, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Fresh Food, Meat, Butchery, or FMCG Commercial functions.

Required Skills

• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Experience managing category P&L and commercial KPIs.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capability.
• Knowledge of meat sourcing, market trends, and retail operations.
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in modern retail, hypermarkets, supermarkets, or food distribution.
• Knowledge of local and international meat supply markets.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation expertise.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and suppliers.
• Experience with category management tools and retail analytics.
