Nama Arabia is looking for a commercially driven Assistant Manager – Space Planning & Store Productivity to lead the development of effective space allocation, store productivity and planogram strategies across our retail formats.
The role will focus on maximizing the commercial return of every square metre by connecting sales, margin, inventory, customer demand and store capacity with practical store layouts and category space allocation.
Key Responsibilities- Analyse sales, margin, inventory, stock turn and SKU productivity by store and category.
- Develop space allocation models by category, sub-category, brand and store format.
- Identify over-spaced and under-spaced categories and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop store zoning, category adjacencies and customer flow plans.
- Create and manage planograms, shelf allocation, facings and fixture capacity.
- Build differentiated space models for flagship, large, medium and small store formats.
- Align assortment and inventory levels with available selling and fixture capacity.
- Identify slow-moving and aged inventory occupying productive selling space and recommend re-space, rationalization or liquidation actions.
- Support new store openings, refurbishments and store re-layouts.
- Develop temporary space plans for key commercial campaigns such as Ramadan, Eid, Back-to-School, Black Friday and Gifting.
- Work closely with Buying, Merchandising, VM, Retail Operations, Supply Chain and Projects teams.
- Measure the commercial impact of space initiatives and continuously improve space productivity.
- Sales per sq. metre / sq. ft.
- Gross margin per sq. metre / sq. ft.
- Inventory density
- Stock turn and sell-through
- SKU productivity
- Reduction of aged inventory occupying selling space
- Planogram compliance
- Incremental sales and margin generated through re-space initiatives
- 5–8+ years of experience in Retail Space Planning, Category Space Management, Merchandise Planning or Store Planning.
- Experience with in multi-store retail environments.
- Experience in Beauty, Fashion, Lifestyle, Department Stores or Specialty Retail is preferred.
- GCC / Saudi retail experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical and commercial skills with advanced Excel capability.
- Experience with space planning / planogram tools such as Blue Yonder/JDA, Spaceman, Dot Activ, Quant, RELEX or similar.
- Strong understanding of store productivity, category performance and inventory productivity.
- Ability to translate data and commercial insights into practical store actions.
We are looking for someone who can go beyond display and planogram execution and understand the commercial side of space planning.
The ideal candidate should be able to answer:
What should go where?
How much space should it receive?
How much inventory should sit there?
And what financial return should that space generate?
