Job Description – Security Camera Monitor (CCTV Operator)

Role Summary
The Security Camera Monitor is responsible for continuously monitoring CCTV systems to protect people, assets, and facilities across Al Othaim Life locations. The role supports loss prevention, safety, and incident response by identifying suspicious activity, escalating issues promptly, and ensuring accurate documentation in line with company procedures and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor live CCTV feeds and recorded footage to detect suspicious behavior, safety risks, theft, vandalism, or policy violations.
- Conduct routine camera checks to ensure coverage, clarity, and system functionality; report faults immediately to the relevant parties.
- Track incidents in real time, coordinate with on-ground security teams, and escalate urgent matters according to the chain of command.
- Maintain detailed incident logs (time, location, description, individuals involved, actions taken) and prepare reports when required.
- Support investigations by locating relevant footage, preserving evidence, and ensuring proper handover to authorized stakeholders.
- Follow privacy, confidentiality, and data protection practices—access and share footage strictly on a need-to-know basis.
- Monitor critical points (entrances/exits, cash handling areas, stockrooms, high-value zones) and apply heightened attention during peak hours.
- Verify compliance with internal security procedures and identify patterns or recurring risks to support preventive actions.
- Assist with emergency situations (fire alarms, medical incidents, crowd control events) by guiding response teams using camera visibility.
- Ensure shift handovers are clear and complete, including system status, ongoing observations, and unresolved incidents.
Requirements (Qualifications & Experience)
- Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- 0–2 years experience in CCTV monitoring, security operations, or loss prevention is preferred (entry-level candidates are welcome).
- Basic familiarity with CCTV systems and control room operations is an advantage.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Strong observation and attention to detail.
- Calm decision-making under pressure and ability to prioritize in real time.
- Clear communication and disciplined escalation.
- Integrity and high confidentiality standards.
- Basic computer skills (incident logs, reporting, retrieving footage).
- Team collaboration with security, operations, and management.
Working Conditions
- On-site, control room environment with continuous screen monitoring.
- Shift-based work; may require extended focus for long periods.
