Staff Engineer – Backend (Ruby on Rails or Python)

We are seeking a Staff Engineer with deep backend expertise in Ruby on Rails or Python to take ownership of final design reviews and ensure technical implementations align with Lucidya's architecture standards and product vision. You'll act as a technical authority, collaborating across teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high‑quality software systems. This is a hands‑on leadership role suited for someone passionate about driving architectural integrity and mentoring engineering teams.

• Take ownership of final design reviews and provide technical direction for focused product initiatives.
• Ensure that technical implementations meet architecture standards and product vision.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high‑quality systems.
• Mentor engineering teams and champion best practices.

• Hands‑on experience designing and delivering customer experience (CX) SaaS products such as social listening engines, real‑time engagement systems, customer data platforms, feedback tools, or marketing insights dashboards.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of backend software engineering experience, ideally in a SaaS environment.
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails or Python for production‑grade applications.
• Proven experience in technical leadership, architecture reviews, and mentoring.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event‑driven architectures.
• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with relational (e.g., Postgre
  
  SQL) and non‑relational (e.g., Redis, Elasticsearch) data stores.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience using GenAI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to boost coding efficiency, automate tasks, and improve code quality.

• Experience with Dev Ops, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling.
• Contributions to open‑source projects or public technical writing.
