AI Specialist Intern – Design & Technical Services
6-Month Internship
About the OpportunityAdeera is a Saudi hotel operator (a PIF portfolio company) developing and operating hotels across three brands - Alia (ultra-luxury), Sama (lifestyle luxury), and Noor (midscale). Our Design & Technical Services (D&TS) team oversees hotel design reviews, technical standards, and pre-opening delivery across a growing national portfolio.
We are looking for a motivated AI Specialist Intern to join D&TS and help us bring AI and automation into the day-to-day work of hotel design and development. This is not a research role: you will build practical tools on live projects, working directly with the team responsible for delivering Adeera's hotels.
What You Will Work On- Automating design review workflows, including tracking and consolidating design development comments across architecture, interiors, and MEP disciplines.
- Building document-comparison and extraction tools for consultant deliverables (drawings, specifications, area programmes, BOQs).
- Structuring and analyzing project data such as area programmes, OS&E/FF&E schedules, and pre-opening trackers.
- Piloting AI assistants trained on Adeera's brand and technical standards to support faster, more consistent design reviews.
- Preparing documentation and short presentations on tools developed and findings, and sharing relevant emerging AI tools for design and construction workflows.
Ownership deliverable: within the first 90 days, develop and pilot at least one working automation tool on a live project workflow, with support from the D&TS team.
Qualifications- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, or Software Engineering.
- Working knowledge of Python and/or low-code automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Copilot Studio).
- Exposure to LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or building AI-assisted workflows is a strong plus.
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfort working with imperfect, real-world data.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities; proficiency in English required, Arabic preferred.
- Interest in the built environment, design, construction, or hospitality is an advantage but not required.
- Direct exposure to hotel design and development across an active national portfolio.
- Day-to-day reporting into the D&TS team with a dedicated mentor.
- Real deliverables you can point to - not shadowing.
