Role PurposeThe Lead Solution Architect - Integration owns the integration and interoperability architecture that connects the airport ecosystem - airport, airlines, ground handlers, government, retail and partners - through robust, secure and scalable integration patterns.
The role leads integration design and standards, governs the integration team, and ensures seamless, resilient data flow across a complex, multi-vendor landscape in a 24/7 environment.
Key Responsibilities- Own the integration architecture, patterns and standards (APIs, ESB/iPaaS, messaging, event-driven, streaming).
- Design interfaces across airport operational systems and external stakeholders, applying industry standards (IATA, A-CDM).
- Own integration blueprints, API contracts and interface specifications.
- Design integrations for high availability, throughput, error handling and failover.
- Embed security and data protection into integration flows.
- Define monitoring, logging and observability for interfaces.
- Lead and mentor integration architects; govern integration quality.
- Support estimation, planning and risk for the integration domain.
- Engage stakeholders and vendors across the ecosystem.
- Integration architecture: Extensive experience leading complex, multi-system integration on large programs.
- Patterns & tooling: Deep knowledge of APIs/REST, ESB/iPaaS (Mule Soft, Azure Integration, Boomi), messaging (Kafka, MQ), event-driven design.
- Interfaces & data: Skill in interface specification, data mapping, API design and contract management.
- Resilience & security: Designing resilient, secure integrations for mission-critical 24/7 systems.
- Leadership & communication: Ability to lead a team and engage stakeholders/vendors.
- Knowledge of aviation standards/systems (IATA messaging, A-CDM, AODB, BHS/BRS, CUPPS/CUSS).
- Integration/cloud certifications (Mule Soft, Azure, AWS).
- Experience in aviation, transport or critical-infrastructure environments.
- Exposure to OT/IoT integration and MSI operating models.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Integration, cloud and/or security certifications strongly preferred.
- Integration and systems thinking - design leadership - precision - security mindset - collaboration across vendors - clear communication - resilience.
