Location
- Riyadh (looking for local based candidates)
Experience- 5 to 10 years
Job Description -- Design, build, and maintain backend microservices using Java and Quarkus
- Develop and consume REST/reactive APIs within a distributed microservices architecture
- Implement caching, session, and performance-sensitive logic using Redis
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests; maintain code coverage standards using Ja Co Co
- Enforce code quality and formatting standards
- Implement structured JSON logging for observability and traceability
- Participate in contract testing to ensure safe integration across services
- Collaborate using Git Lab workflows - feature branching, merge requests, hotfix sequencing, and release coordination
- Contribute to and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment
- Work with Maven
-based project builds - Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint ceremonies
- Debug and resolve production issues in a regulated banking environment, following change management protocols
- 5-8 years of professional backend development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Java
- Experience with Quarkus or comparable frameworks (Spring Boot, Micronaut) - willingness to work in Quarkus is essential
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture patterns (service decomposition, resilience, API contracts)
- Experience with Redis or similar caching/in-memory data stores
- Familiarity with reactive programming concepts
- Practical experience with unit/integration testing frameworks and code coverage tooling
- Experience with Git/Git Lab branching strategies and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of contract testing practices
- Exposure to Maven build systems
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in distributed systems
- Good communication skills and ability to work within cross-functional squads
- Prior experience in banking, fintech, or other regulated industries
- Familiarity with API gateways and security patterns for financial services
- Exposure to structured logging/observability tooling
