Cargo Supervisor

The role involves being the main point of contact for Etihad cargo matters at the appointed station, overseeing cargo warehouse operations, freighter ramp supervision, and ensuring safe and timely delivery of high‑profile shipments.

• Serve as the primary contact for all Etihad cargo related matters.
• Directly manage cargo warehouse operations and freighter ramp supervision at the appointed station.
• Plan and oversee key route and product activities with a focus on performance requirements such as OTP, eAWB, Cargo IQ, SLA and FAB.
• Ensure safe, secure, and on‑time delivery of all high‑profile shipments on flights and key routes.
• Drive and improve freighter OTP in a challenging environment by fulfilling tasks related to ramp organization and supervision of freighter operations.
• Establish best practices to enable revenue budget achievements, support service delivery, achieve cost savings, and comply with safety and security regulations.
• Maximize flight capacity and review processes to reduce UTLs, operational discrepancies, and offloads.
• Support the delivery and loading of complex cargo loads for passenger or freighter operations.
• Provide on‑job training, coaching, and advice to GHA staff to upgrade their skills and confidence.
• Ensure compliance with all Etihad procedures and regulatory requirements related to safety, security, and dangerous goods.
• Deliver service to designated stations through SGHA SLAs, KPI, Cargo IQ, and eAWB measurement.
• Maintain flexibility with operations shift requirements and perform cross‑skill functions to continuously develop competency levels.
• Execute ad‑hoc tasks required by other EY network stations to support various initiatives.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits on facilities to ensure work progress and services meet SOP and regulatory requirements, including health, security, and safety under SMS guidelines.
• Micromanage special services and VIP shipments from acceptance to customer delivery.
• Handle finance tasks: raise PR, PO, and GRN in SAP, and verify supplier invoices to ensure correct charges as per contract.
• Interface with airport authorities (Customs, police, airport operator) to gain support for EY initiatives.
• Make day‑to‑day operational decisions to manage and mitigate operational safety and security risks associated with assigned tasks.
• Escalate medium or higher level risks to appropriate management personnel.

• Degree or diploma in logistics, operations management, or a related discipline with specialization in cargo handling operations.
• At least five years of cargo operations experience, including freighter handling, team management, and supplier coordination.
• Strong understanding of computer air freight specifications and in‑depth knowledge of industry standards and legal regulations.
• Industry training in dangerous goods, cargo operations, special products, safety and security, and weight and balance.
• Fully conversant with cargo handling processes, procedures, and regulatory compliance expectations.
• Experience with cargo handling systems, messaging requirements, manual handling systems, and knowledge of freighter aircraft such as the 747F and 777F.
• Understanding of budgetary controls related to cargo handling at network stations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
