Description
The WADPM shall develop, revise, and maintain an airfield driving program to ensure safe operations of vehicles, aircraft, and pedestrians on and around the airfield environment in accordance with DAFI 13-213, Airfield Driving. The WADPM will solicit assistance from base senior leadership and various support agencies to effectively implement and manage the program, provide all initial and recurring airfield driver training for all unit-level Airfield Driving Program Managers (ADPMs) and airfield drivers, and ensure reporting of Controlled Movement Area violations and other significant events in Amentum’s MIS system to Wing leadership as required in DAFMAN 13-204 and DAFI 13-213.
The WADPM will conduct spot checks to enforce and monitor compliance with airfield driving procedures.
- Must have a 7‑skill level from an approved DoD institution or civilian equivalent.
- Have documented knowledge or experience with ICAO procedures.
- Have a minimum of 1 year experience implementing airfield safety procedures and facilitating airfield flight line driver programs.
- Ability to coordinate with Wing Safety, Airfield Management, Airfield Operations, and tenant units.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for program documentation, briefings, and incident reporting.
- Familiarity with airfield operations, ATC radio phraseology, airfield risk management, and airfield safety programs.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a US Secret Clearance (US citizenship is required to obtain/maintain the clearance).
- Serve as the Wing’s designated Airfield Driving Program Manager, responsible for the full lifecycle of the Airfield Driving Program.
- Develop, maintain, and update the Wing Airfield Driving Instruction (ADI), training and testing materials, and local operating procedures.
- Train unit ADPMs and certify them to administer, test, and train personnel assigned to their unit.
- Conduct initial, recurring, and remedial airfield driving training, including classroom instruction, practical evaluations, and competency assessments.
- Maintain program records, training logs, violation reports, and certification documentation in accordance with DoD and USAF requirements.
- Manage the issuance, tracking, and revocation of Airfield Driving Licenses, ensuring compliance with DAFI 13-213 and local directives.
- Oversee the Runway Incursion Prevention Program, including trend analysis, corrective actions, and coordination with Wing Safety Lead investigations for airfield driving violations, runway incursions, and safety incidents; develop corrective action plans and report findings to Airfield Management leadership.
- Conduct program audits of individual unit programs, spot checks, and unit compliance inspections to ensure adherence to airfield driving standards.
- Provide recurring briefings to Wing leadership on program status, compliance issues, and risk mitigation measures.
