Job TitleRegistered Nurse – Emergency Room
LocationRoanoke Rapids, NC | Acute Care
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 12-hour shifts | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a 28-bed Emergency Department with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Manage high-acuity presentations including COVID, CHF, Trauma, Sepsis, and CVA
- Perform and assist with advanced procedures such as intubation, chest tubes, and dislocations
- Assess and treat common ED diagnoses including chest pain, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, and MVC
- Administer and monitor a broad range of emergency medications including analgesics, antiemetics, bronchodilators, and IV fluids
- Utilize teleneurology services and apply NIH Stroke Certification knowledge in the care of stroke patients
- Active RN license (Compact license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience
- Level II or Level III ED experience required
- BLS – American Heart Association certification required
- ACLS – American Heart Association certification required
- PALS – American Heart Association certification required
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required
- Must reside at least 80 miles from the facility to be eligible
- NIH Stroke Certification preferred
- Experience with Belmont rapid infuser or similar advanced resuscitation equipment
- Familiarity with teleneurology workflows in an emergency setting
- Work in a dynamic, high-acuity Emergency Department with a structured orientation program designed to set you up for success
