Retail Sales Associate

Overview

We are currently looking for the right Full-Time Retail Sales Associate to join our team. The hourly wage is $13.00 to $16.00 per hour with commission opportunities.

We offer an easily achievable commission structure that pays you for every transaction you process. Our retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $1.69 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The role greets, engages, and interacts with customers to process sales, loans, and other transactions. The associate thrives on engaging with customers and assists with inquiries and problem resolution.

The stores feature a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more. The position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. The final pay is based on factors such as location, qualifications, and experience.

The commission plan information is proprietary and details are provided during the interview process. Pay rates will not be below applicable local minimum wage requirements.

• Greets and interacts with customers to develop rapport and provide appropriate financial solutions.
• Performs non-management open/close procedures.
• Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintains product displays.
• Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Handles cash and negotiable items in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Answers incoming calls per company standards.
• Explains the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, showing respect and using communication tools.
• Collaborates with all employees to create a positive customer experience.
• Completes assigned training successfully.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be willing and able to stand, walk, and perform duties for extended periods as required by law.
• Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
• May be asked to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products stored in exterior areas.
• Minimum Age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently.
• Cash handling experience is preferred.
• Must be able to work at multiple locations as needed.
• Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.
