Job Description

At Fidelity Institutional, the ISA role is the entry position within our multi-year Investment Sales Desk Development Program (ISDP). You’ll be part of a collaborative, competitive, high‑energy sales environment and exposed to many facets of financial services and investment products.

Responsibilities

As an ISA, your primary responsibility is to consult with financial‑advisor clients via phone and Zoom, providing market insight, investment‑product overviews and portfolio construction ideas to help advisors achieve their clients’ goals. You will also grow foundational knowledge of the financial industry.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree
• Series 7 & Series 63 licenses required (may be obtained in role)
• Experience in financial services and sales helpful but not required
• Commitment to growing technical knowledge of the financial industry
• Passion for capital markets and investment products
• Aptitude and dedication for constant learning and self‑improvement
• Team player, confident, and self‑motivated
• Excellent communicator, excited to engage clients

The Investment Sales Development Program

The ISDP is a multi‑year program with distinct phases to build foundational knowledge and sell investment products.

The Three Phases Within The Program

Licensing, training, and supporting financial‑advisor investment‑product inquiries

Pro‑active client engagement to initiate new relationships and sales opportunities

Sales territory ownership with an external sales partner to drive investment‑product sales

Skills Development

Throughout the 12–18 months ISA role and beyond you’ll build:

• Capital market and investment‑product knowledge
• Sales process and territory management
• Consultative presentation capabilities
• Understanding of the financial‑advisor and intermediary ecosystem

Compensation and Career Progression

• ISAs earn up to $74 k annually, including base, performance, and training milestone bonuses.
• After 12–18 months, eligibility for in‑line promotion to Regional Investment Consultant (RIC) and Senior RIC, with earning potential at least $95 k and $115 k, respectively, featuring a base salary and uncapped commission target.
• Upon completion of ISDP, you’re eligible for senior‑level sales roles across Fidelity.
