Principal Full Stack Engineer

Overview

Principal Full Stack Engineer – Fidelity Investments (Westlake, Texas, Full‑time). The FFIO Technology team seeks an experienced engineer to develop next‑generation pricing platforms in the cloud, providing technical leadership, mentorship for junior members, and hands‑on development.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, cloud‑native services using Java 21+, Spring Boot, and associated technologies.
• Collaborate with product management to decompose epics into stories and deliver solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Lead small agile teams, mentor junior engineers, and foster a strong user focus.
• Build and deploy cloud‑enabled applications following 12‑factor design principles.
• Implement continuous integration pipelines and automated deployment tools such as Jenkins.
• Provide outstanding support, including on‑call duties when necessary.

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a solid foundation in core Java technologies.
• Deep expertise with Spring Boot, Spring 3.x, JPA, REST/Web Services, Maven, XML, and Apache Tomcat.
• Experience with AWS (or similar cloud platforms), Docker, Kubernetes/Helm, and cloud deploy practices.
• Proficient in SQL, Oracle database, and stored procedures.
• Hands‑on experience with Kafka, Reactor/JavaRX, Swagger, and continuous integration/deployment.
• Familiarity with Angular, Type Script, and modern front‑end frameworks is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
• Passion for learning new technologies and frameworks, and a commitment to excellence.

• Create scalable, resilient, cloud‑based systems aligned with long‑term strategy.
• Deliver on‑call support and maintain robust production environments.
• Mentor and grow junior software engineers.
