Senior Java​/Microservices Engineer

As a Principal Engineer, you will be an integral part of our Scrum team, working closely with the Squad Lead, Scrum Master, Developers, Quality Assurance, and Architects. Your role will involve crafting, building, testing, and delivering features that enhance our digital platforms. We value creativity, critical thinking, and a sense of humor in our team members.

Rate: $58 - $63 / hr. w2

• Work alongside both other engineers and non-technical staff to analyze projects both independently and collaboratively within an agile/scrum practice with a focus on your contributions to improve backlog, sprint planning, and retrospectives
• Maintain 100% use case coverage with testing, refine your problem solving skills, learn new technologies, and build relationship with business partners and establish trust and confidence from the team that you're able to deliver effectively while also challenging assumptions and ensuring all stakeholders have the best products possible being delivered which suit the business needs
• Design, develop, and scale large applications using SOA / REST architectures with Java, NodeJS, with a focus on middleware components which drive event driven and micro architectures which will be supporting both new development, improvements, maintenance, and support as needed
• Support cloud components (S3, IAM, Lambda) and work between databases using SQL commands and queries to navigate between different databases and to work with data APIs to aid development processes
• Define documentation and support and maintain enterprise level technologies as you build out Java services (web services / API)
• Work as needed to troubleshoot production and non-production issues throughout design and development stages, including testing, Dev Ops, Cloud, and front end (Angular/Type Script) as needed, up to about 20% of the time for front end with 80% of your work being focused on backend / middleware (Spring Boot, Java, REST API, and AWS as needed)

• Very very strong communication skills, able to gather feedback, incorporate it, and aid others throughout the design and development process for new and existing products while bringing your experience, perspectives, and positive attitude to better the solutions for partners, clients, business leaders, and other developers
• 8+ years of progressive experience, with previous roles being either senior or lead level (no hand holding in this role, we require someone to hit the ground running)
• Proven experiences building functional software on time in a Docker/Container environment in AWS ecosystems consistently, and with a high level of accountability and ownership throughout the process during sprints and releases
• Able to work with AWS technologies (proven abilities with either ECS, S3, Lambda, API gateway, Kubernetes/Containers, or other serverless or hybrid deployments in an AWS environment, AWS certifications are great to have
• 3+ years of recent AND modern Angular experience (Type Script, our team supports Angular
  15+)

• Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent science/STEM/Engineering degree is required

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
